I remember this house coming up somewhere while cruzing the web, but when I came across u+b architecture I was reminded how cool it actually was. They did an amazing job on the exterior of the home, but of course I am a sucker for black. I don’t know if I love the interior but that is just me.
Located on a secluded wooded site, this project transforms a banal late 1950s ranch style residence into a contemporary home for a couple and their two children. New exterior finishes were chosen to blend the house with the shadowed tree trunks of the surrounding woods and windows and doors were replaced and reconfigured to optimize views to the surrounding landscape. Interior finishes were replaced and walls were removed to create a more open and light-filled interior plan.

Jeff: Sep 07 09 at 5:49 pmYeah that’s pretty nice… but you’re right.. they need to lose the blue/purple couches and seafoam green bar stools… And is that really black? Shows up more grey to me.
