Realtor Michael Shapiro, who I met when we visited the The Miller House recently posted about this picturesque mid century modern home for sale. This amazing home was the personal residence of Architect Jack C. Cohen. The 5 bedroom/4.5 bathroom 4,650 square foot home is nestled into the trees on a .81 acre corner lot and stands as a perfect example of what the phrase “Mid Century” really is.
Architect Jack C. Cohen, FAIA, left his mark on the suburbs of Washington. He started the firm Cohen and Haft and designed the Crystal City Marriott and the Israeli Embassy. The firm was later known as CHK and now is known as Torti Gallas. The firm has designed more than 300,000 residential units in the Washington area. A 1972 Washington Post article dubbed the firm the “Architects of the Suburbs.”
