The color pallet in the Art House by DeForest Architects is a soothing gray scale mixed with some darker woods. There are plenty of textures for the eye, wood beams, slate floors and blackened steel to name a few. Besides all of the amazing art in the house the architectural design element that is a jaw-dropper is the steel staircase that runs throughout the house vertically. The blackened steel plate serves as a guard rail while the treads and risers are perforated steel that seem to dissolve when viewed from below.
