Final construction and crating - Eastvold credenza update
Seeing the final pictures of this amazing walnut custom credenza put me, do I dare say, into some giddy school girl state of mind. Another cool aspect of this project is the crate. I almost think the crate alone looks like some kind of modern industrial credenza.

The crate is built from 1/4″OSB and pine 2×4’s. I have learned to prepare the crates for the worst because I have seen the worst. They get loaded onto semi trucks, sometimes airplanes and shuffled around warehouses, none of which are gentle. The shipping company I have been using is called Home Direct At Your Service and they have been wonderful to work with. Their specialty is shipping furniture at a reasonable price and work hard at making sure things go well and when they don’t, they make sure all issues are resolved. Their role is a third party broker who finds the best company for the piece.
What would you do with the crate?
Chuck it?
Use it for fire wood?
I will for sure use it, but how?

Keeping it modern on eBay
Some good stuff floating around eBay this week. I have always been fond of the Ligne Roset Togo sofa but I have never really been a fan of reproductions. I guess the price brought it more into my grasp and I am sure the quality is no where near that of the original, I guess I can only dream. I am digging that Indian painting as well. Handcrafted wood objects - Crate Furniture Service
After reading through the adventures of KITKA design Toronto and their trip to Japan, I have gained a new appreciation and a bit of a drool problem for the skill and craftsmanship that goes into these beautiful objects. I came across the blog of Crate Furniture Service and was amazed by their work. Although I can’t read a lick of the blog it is worth it do go take a look. More after the jump.
Modern inside and out - ROBBRECHT EN DAEM
I really like the work of ROBBRECHT EN DAEM, especially the exhibition for Mies van der Rohe. Their love for wood work in many different applications is very evident. The minimal style, the quality of materials, and the attention to detail make them who they are, brilliant. More after the jump.
