Mid Century Modern Homes in Columbus
Whats this? A post on Sat? As part of our tour in Columbus Indiana last weekend we were treated to several private homes in the area. There were some great mid century homes with some amazing landscaping. There was one home on this tour I will save for a post all on it’s own, ya it was that good. 14 images after the jump.

Filmmakers Michael Bernard and Gavin Froome will take us on a journey from Los Angeles to Vancouver; from 1922 up to the present exploring modernist architecture on the West Coast. A core group of architects embraced the Coast with its particular geography and values and they have left behind a legacy of beautiful and inspired dwellings. Today, architects have picked up the thread and they continue to explore and celebrate the principles established by their predecessors.
Sarinen, Pei, Weese, Meier, Moore = Modern Overload in Columbus Indiana
This weekend I am off to Columbus Indiana for a historic tour of some of the countries greatest mid century structures. There is a massive amount of excitement as we will be treated to a private showing of the famed Miller house. The Miller House was designed by Eero Saarinen, with interiors by Alexander Girard, and landscape design by Daniel Urban K. We will be staying at the very cool Hotel Indigo. Modern architecture - Alterstudio
Austin Texas based Alterstudio has an amazing book of work. Clean, linear, and modern, just my flavor. My favorite has to be the Westlake Hills Residence. I really like how the home sits in a hill side and love the simplicity of the color pallet. More after the jump.

Modern architecture - Jon Anderson
Some amazing wok by New Mexico based Jon Anderson. I grabbed images form his residential works. My favorite project is the Archibeck Residence (first picture) with it’s almost monochromatic feel. One of my favorite flavors of design is monochromatic layered with texture and this home does it with brick, steel, glass and wood. Check out more pics after the jump. All photos by Kirk Gittings
