Drevviken House by Claesson Koivisto Rune, located in Stockholm Sweden is s stunning exercise in minimal design and layout. Single story, check. Color palate, black and white, check. Floor to ceiling windows, check. This is pretty close to the type of home I would love to build some day. I think they did a fantastic job with the interior choices as well.
Amazing spaces captured by Michael Wee
I was pretty much speechless when I come across the portfolio of Australia based photographer Michael Wee. Some of the mid century modern interiors that have been seen and photographed are soooooo killer, 100% amazing eye candy. I dug a little deeper and found that Michael Wee was the photographer for a book about mid century homes in Australia titled 50/60/70 Iconic Australian Houses , I may have to get my hands on a copy of that.
Capturing modern by Roger Davies
A few days ago the wonderful young ladies over at Desire to Inspire posted the amazing photographs of Roger Davies. I know I had seen some of his images before but didn’t know the source. Talk about an amazing portfolio full of modern homes and interiors, there are a couple of homes that are complete stunners. I am really digging on the green geometric carpet in the second pic. Alto de Pinheiros House by Arquiteto Paulo Bastos & Associates
I am really liking the Alto de Pinheiros House by Arquiteto Paulo Bastos & Associates. Completed in the 70’s I don’t know if you would call this mid century modern, but modern it definitely is. I love the concrete bunker style approach with portions of the house being left open to the outside. Brazil, ya I could live there.
Modern interiors by Wonder
Australia based design firm Wonder has some really nice interiors both commercial and residential. I really like that the majority of the surfaces are black or white, I feel those colors provide a fantastic canvas for any designers imagination. I appreciate seeing older architecture mixed with a modern aesthetic. Make sure to check the rest of their work.
Industrial modern - 25hours Hotel
I really like the feel of the modern industrial interiors that are 25hours Hotel. There are so many textures to experience, shipping containers, natural wood slabs, leather, wool and the fiberglass of Eames shell chairs to name a few. Is it a little theme parkish, maybe but why not have an experience while staying at hotel instead of the same old same old. From the projects inception the idea of a multi-disciplinary team played an important role – The client was an integral part of the design team from day one and formed part of a creative collective co-ordinated by Stephen Williams Associates.
