Modern Asian Landscaping - Brian Higley

So I spent all weekend ripping up the yard, again. So you guessed it more modern landscaping with some Asian flare. Brian Higley has some nice modern landscaping in his body of work. More after the jump.

My designs are contemporary in nature. I feel that a simple approach is usually best, and leads to a more pleasing and beautiful design, and also helps the project to be more functional, coherent, and cost effective.
I believe that the landscape should be strongly integrated with existing and proposed architecture. Whenever possible they must be thought out together. A whole host of landscape elements are carefully considered, and arranged in a way that ultimately shapes the overall “floor plan” of a site.

Modern Landscaping - Orange Street Studio

Not much to say about Orange Street Studio, one look at their work and “holy freaking wow”. The Bubalo project stood out the most, but all of the projects are gorgeous. More pics and link after the jump

By paring the plant palette to a select number of species and through the use of massing, the richness of textures and colors is highlighted. Together, the plants and warm materials create a contemporary garden that is both functional and evocative.

Spring Time = Yard Work + Modern Landscaping

It is starting to warm up here in the high Desert ( South East Washington). We moved into a “new to us” house in late November. I am pretty excited about the yard. I have already started to rip up the front and will have pictures soon. So here are some pictures to get us all inspired. These pictures come from www.eichlerforsale.com. More pics and link after the jump.

Blogging The Seattle Times, Mid-Century Goes Thoroughly Modern

I just had to share this article.

Andrew and April Rauch have a great fondness for their red-brick rambler in the Olympic Manor neighborhood, a well-manicured pasture of low-slung Mid-century homes in North Seattle.
