I am writing this on Tuesday as I will be moving all this week. Today they are putting in our basic landscaping (comes with the house), grass, sprinklers, some rocks and a couple of plants. I will most likely just rip most of it up or completely change it. All of this put me in the landscaping mode AGAIN!. Blasen Landscape Architecture has a really nice portfolio full of very clean and modern designs. I am totally copying the first photo, that planter with a singular tree and the cut ground cover on top, minimalism at it’s best. More after the jump.
Landscape Architecture by Conger Moss Guillard
I know I am jumping the gun with it still being winter but I feel so strongly that a modern structure needs modern and well designed landscaping. Conger Moss Guillard do an amazing job at merging these two elements. A lot of their work is on a larger scale than just your average back yard. Even though you may not be able to pull something this grand off you can certainly gain some inspiration and then use some of your own interpretation. More after the jump.

MVVA has some fantastic landscapes in their body of work. I love how in most cases they create an environment that is much bigger in scale than the human form. This allows one to feel part of or incorporated into the landscape. The massive blocks of concrete, the large stacked slabs of stone or even the natural slices of wood would be so killer to interact with. More after the jump.

Here in Eastern Washington the weather has been oddly warm this winter. The weather combined with the fact that we close on our house in two weeks has my mind spinning about landscaping.
