Yesterday I posted about the killer office of Wonderwall. The very talented Kozo Takayama is the man behind the lens that so effortlessly captured this amazing building. Naturally I went to Kozo’s site and was totally blown away by his full and stunning portfolio. It is evident has a following of some “top of game” clients. What an amazing talent!
The office of Wonderwall.
If you haven’t seen the work of Wonderwall you are missing out on a magical ride. I would compare Wonderwall to the Willy Wonka of commercial interiors. Take a look at their portfolio, any one of their projects would transport you to another world. Their office is just as amazing, I so love the exterior concrete with the wood impression. The interiors are well designed with a few hints of playfulness. More after the jump.
Katayama designed both the architecture and interior design of his new office for Wonderwall. The three story high building with additional two floors below ground was designed based on Katayama’s idea of what he considers basic and standard. In designing this office, functionality, vertical continuity, and a certain sense of tension were key elements that was important to Katayama while it also needed to posses the identity of his firm and be an exhilarating space for him to work in. Such varying elements coexist in harmony, seamlessly unifying architecture and interior design to create a perfectly natural space and hence an optimal state.
Modern done well - Mazen Studio
Toronto based Mazen Studio has a very nice sense of style when it comes to the modern aesthetic. I feel like they do a great job at mixing the new and old. I am probably a little bias because that is my flavor in a nut shell. I really like their work space/office projects as well. My favorite is the Wellington Street Loft, the gloss black floor and just look at the grain on the cabinets! More after the jump.
Coalesse - Tolleson Design
Tolleson did an amazing job at uniting three legacy companies and making them sing as one. I love the large scale graphics and the diversity of space used through these showroom spaces. Love the metal wall that the Hans Wagner chairs are lined up on, what a great juxtaposition. More after the jump.
Renowned contract furniture manufacturer Steelcase Group approached Tolleson to collaborate on uniting three legacy companies – Brayton, Metro and Vecta – into a new brand, establishing a much-needed new category. Aptly named Coalesse, the resulting identity defines a new niche through a brand story and experience accessible to a varied audience.
SHH combines the contemporary and the classic
Caroline from SHH just sent me one of their recently completed projects and I must say, AMAZING! So not only is this place a perfect balance of melding to styles together but it’s an office space for a shipping company as well. By now you know I have a special place in my heart for those amazing herringbone floors. Wood, black and white for me are the perfect canvas for an amazing space, Can I work there please? SHH has completed an office interiors project, set within a 5-storey early Georgian terrace in the West End of London, for an international shipping company. The new offices are spacious and dramatic, with cool, contemporary furniture and interventions creating a strong contrast with the building’s classic fabric, which was renovated as part of the scheme. Major new design features include a bespoke chandelier hanging right through the three storey stair void; new bespoke furniture designed by SHH and beautiful American black walnut herringbone timber flooring, installed to restore some of the long-lost richness and quality suggested by the original building envelope.
Office interiors - Gensler
I have posted the work of Gensler before HERE and HERE. They have a wonderful book full of modern office and work spaces. I really appreciate the uncluttered minimal design that is prevalent throughout their design style. More after the jump
