This desert modern home in Palm Desert by architect Jay Reynolds is a minimal beauty. The house was built in 2002 but the design is current and relevant. If I were to build new, I would go with something minimal clean and simple like this structure. The entire floor being concrete creates a seamless flow from one space to another and I am sure it helps in heating and cooling. There is a good balance of wood to warm up the mostly cool interiors. The height of the ceilings create a volume that feels open. I also appreciate all of the sky lights, they do a great job at bouncing light throughout the inside of the house.
