I am a true fan of the DIY project, especially if you can pull off a good DIY Modern. I think most fans of modern design can only afford the cheap modern furniture cough Ikea cough cough. When I ran upon this set of photos on Flickr I was pretty excited. Nicole and Herold have completely remodeled there home and I love what they did in the bathroom. They did their own concrete countertops and utilized Ikea cabinets very very cool, more pics after the jump.
We used IKEA over the fridge cabs and floated them on the wall. DH beefed up the cabs to help support the 250+ lbs of concrete. He did a great job ’cause we can both sit on the counter (another 290 lbs) and the cabs are rock solid.
