Eames Splint story part two. So a guy (me) walks into a……Oh, you’ve heard this one, so have I. Last Friday I walked into the same store that I picked up my Eames leg splint and the kind lady says “you know that leg splint you bought” at this point my first thought was “uh oh she is onto me” then she said “I got another one from the same place, do you want it?” Of course I said yes.

When I got the splint home I instantly realized that there were some very distinct differences between the two. I am not posting this to boast or brag but I am curious about this second one to see if anyone out there has some knowledge they can share about where this one came from. The second one has no markings, no Evans mark, no serial on the inside bottom and the shape is a little different. Is this even a Eames splint? Was Evans the only one that produced these? What do you think?

UPDATE!

I started a thread on this second leg splint on Design Addict. It looks as though this second splint might have been made by Alvar and Aaino Aalto’s company, Artek-Pascoe.
