Andres Amador has an amazing mind to come up with these beautiful modern patterns on such a large scale. To think that these are “carvings” in the sand that will vanish within days started me thing about modern landscaping and how someone may incorporate this into their yard. Maybe it won’t work unless you have a yard as large as these. Rock and concrete, moss and stone, what ever the combo I will want to try this in my yard. More after the jump.
I’m a multifaceted man, engaging passionately in many seemingly unrelated pursuits. After years of jumping headlong into various realms of self-expression I have come to see the common threads connecting my activities. I was the kid who would stay up to play with legos. I was the young boy who explored the nooks and crannies of San Francisco on foot, bike, and skate, never letting a hill, no matter how high, stop my investigations. I was the young man who always sought deeper explanations to everything, rarely satisfied with flowery answers.

Danielle: Jul 30 09 at 11:16 amI love these, they are subtle yet powerful and show off how need nature can become and be used. I agree I wish I could have this in my yard.
Jeff: Jul 31 09 at 12:13 pmYou could possibly get something like this if you literally sculpted two kinds of grasses into your lawn.. or mixed grass with something else like stone. Pretty cool though overall.
I wonder how he did the beach ones without leaving footprints?
