Recently, Fractal Construction contacted me about some of their projects, right away I recognized the Gramercy Park Townhouse, what a stunning home. The back side of this home is almost completely transparent with it’s lofty walls of glass. The building used to be three smaller units but the goal here was to create two equal units. The building had to be restructured, wired, HVAC and just about everything else. Ingo Maurer, the lighting designer did an amazing job with lighting, I love the “slits” in the ceiling with light coming through. And who doesn’t love that Nonstop Sofa Designed by Ueli Berger, Eleanora Peduzzi-Riva and Heinz Ulrich produced by Stendig for De Sede that anchors the family room. You can view all of the structural challenges and designs by visiting their site.

Any idea on the coffee table in front of the endless sofa?

JR, are you talking about the stack of books? It may just be that, a stack of books.

The circular coffee table with the Africa book on the top. seems like its pieces of different colored leather?

JR, they are indeed a stack of DOMUS books.
Domus 1928–1999, edited by Charlotte & Peter Fiell, published in 12 volumes by Taschen

I see it now - I thought the rug was the table. Any idea on what the rug is?

JR: Aug 21 12 at 11:24 am

The rug is a Pachamama Rug!
