We are getting closer and closer to the end and it has been so fun to see all of our ideas come to fruition. If you are a first time reader, you can click the “How to: Modern Tract House” in the Categories on the right. To sum it up we are building a semi-custom tract home with a lot of tweaking. We are not in a place to build a custom home and there are not a whole lot of remodel options in our area. I really want to give props to Viking Homes they have been really great to work with us. More pics after the jump
We did a simple stacked subway tile, 3 high on the sides and up to the bottom of the hood on the back wall.
The dark floors, excuse all my dust! (my den)
We intentionally had our builder leave all of the upper cabinets off our kitchen. We have 4 of the AKURUM Wall cab horizontal w glass door that we will be mounting on both sides of the hood. I did a quick and dirty photoshop.

We had a hard time deciding on a couple of stools for the end of the island. We really like the jamaica barstool designed by pepe cortes but I wasn’t ready to pay the 5-6 hundred dollars. so we settled for a couple of Tolix knock offs from Overstock. I am sure there is no comparison to quality but budget wins out on this one.
From the kitchen looking into the family room. Near the 3 windows will go our Burke table and 4 chairs.
I wanted to get a gray chair to round out the table but I settled for a lighter blue. These are all before images, before I layeth the smacketh down on their faded fiberglass seats.
Burke base with a fresh powder coating.
Exterior with the plain garage doors, with the trim currently being painted all white.
