This mid century home by architect John Schwerdt is exactly where I want to be in a few years. This home was built in 1964 and has been kept in close to original condition. The slatted ceilings that run in and out open the house to the exteriors. The amount of glass makes it feel like we are in Southern California but on the contrary, the house is in East Sussex England. The one level, loads of glass, water featured courtyard house is what I want to build some day. The house is currently on the market being sold by only the second owners.
“The gardens surrounding the house were designed by the celebrated garden designer, landscape architect and author Sylvia Crowe and much of her original scheme remains including the ha ha that divides the gardens from the fields beyond, a spectacular ‘nut walk’ that leads to the swimming pool and an orchard with apple and pear trees.”
