Architect John Pawson built this space with some of his signature elements. white walls with shadow gaps, bespoke joinery, and a masterful manipulation of natural light. It also has some unusual spatial features: the staircase is highly sculptural but very steep. When I first saw this space I thought it was a gallery for sure. Turns out it is a little bit of both, a live / work structure. The Danish pieces work well with the bright colored artwork on the wall. The ceiling structure is a critical part of the house visually and I am sure structurally. Could you imagine having your work space in this open bright loft like space?
