Modern designer wallpaper

I have always loved going into a store, restaurant, or office building and seeing an entire wall covered in art or a really cool mural. One way to accomplish this look is by using wallpaper. Most wallpaper is just a repeated pattern of some sort, so not really art per say. Here are a few examples. See more and find out where to get them after the jump

Maxalot is where you find these cool wallpapers that can be made in any size. Here is what they have to say.

Exposif is a collection of wallpapers, developed by Maxalot in collaboration with leading names in graphic design, photography and illustration. Functioning both as art and decoration, Exposif celebrates the re-emerging importance of wallpaper as a way to customize space. The collection reflects a shift in interior styling that uses wallpaper as feature rather than backdrop. Marrying outstanding design with new developments in print technology.

I think its really great to see other ideas and takes on design. I love the wallpaper concept of it being art. I am more of a tradtionalist. But do love the clean lines of modern. The wallpapers you chose as examples are hot.

I like the darker-colored ones, like the ones w/the boys running and the girls in front of the tree (orange) - which is surprising since I don’t like “dark” walls, but I don’t like light wallpaper. Thus, the reason I’m not an interior designer

I am really loving the bottom one. The colors are fantastic. However, the old dude’s face and teeth are a little creepy. I’m not sure if I could handle him staring at me while I was trying to read a book.

Well I immediately recognized Josh Davis and Mike Place’s work of designers republic. Oh wait Mike is solo now with Build. Wonder if he regrets leaving?

When are you going to get on the giclee print bandwagon? Those new vivera inks last like 200 years on archival paper. Check out the HP B9180 yo. I’m getting one asap.
