I really like how this very modern house sits smack in the middle of all those trees. I believe this is a summer home. With that pool, I would gladly live there during the summer months. I tried to do a google translation from Portuguese but it did not work well. So lets just drool on the pics.

A note from the owner:

This holiday house is located on a sloped site on the mountains near the city of Rio de Janeiro. A 10mx10m cubic volume, aligned to the superior site edge was the starting point to respond to the main requirements - house security when not occupied; protection to the land humidity; flat areas for children recreation.

A bright green retaining wall, which links an existing rock to the upper site limit, directs the dwelling entrance while separating the house from the terrain, the rainy winds and the neighbors’ views.

The spaces were conceived facing the best view, towards the rising sun. Although the cubic volume clearly delimits the dwelling area, the interior/exterior definitions are frequently blurred. The cubic volume precision and solidity are opposed to a great flexibility of the interior spaces, which allows various forms of interactions between those spaces and the natural environment. When the family is away, three large steel doors protect the house and augment the cubic boundary. When they are folded, large glazed windows and a transition space covered by a concrete pergola expand the dwelling spaces to outside.  The house concept lines, through the pool and the retaining wall, extend throughout the site and increase the relationship between inside and outside.

Vey modern looking building, but photograph 6 reminds me of a house built in Second life. Even the surrounding grounds look like they’ve been terraformed.

Ah ah… This house is unpractical the architect should have his/her liscence removed on the spot for malpractice.

The swiming pools has no indoor furnitures. Add thoses and you end up with an ugly space.
No closets in the kitchen. That’s conveniant.
No places for everyday stuff (clothes, books, art)
No place for the wood near the fireplace.
Clearly not children friendly.
The ambiance looks cold. I bet it is freezing cold during winter with such high ceilling.

This house is a simply a No NO made by a architect wanabee student with no consideration for REAL LIFE.
