If you were approaching this house from the street you might think there wasn’t much to this modern home. The exterior street view is covered in a calming gray toned Indian slate. The other side of the house is a whole different story. Taking design cues from other iconic modern houses, the wall of glass that encompasses the rear of the house exposes an entirely different experience. I really like how the home seams to be perched on a grassy mass of land.
Clearly echoing the seminal Case Study houses built in California in the 1950s, as well as the best works by Mies van der Rohe, the design by Archplan is an elegant and considered response to its natural setting.
