Mikyoung Kim has created some very intriguing and beautiful environments. These art pieces are not your mom’s traditional garden. I love the use of diagonal pavers and moss in the Farrar Pond project. More after the jump.

Jim: Jul 23 09 at 10:07 amAs a landscape architect, I must say this is very intriguing. The problem I see with this design however, is the amount of maintenance that would need to be done on a weekly basis to keep it as-is. One of the challenges of landscape architecture is that you are working with a LIVING canvas and this must be taken into account when designing. I can see some of the areas in these photos being torn up in a few years. Keeping moss pristine and free of impurities is and keeping the bamboo on a grid is no easy challenge! But it is very beautiful indeed as it is now.

Still stunning to look at when well groomed and taken care of!
