Mikyoung Kim has created some very intriguing and beautiful environments. These art pieces are not your mom’s traditional garden. I love the use of diagonal pavers and moss in the Farrar Pond project. More after the jump.

As a landscape architect, I must say this is very intriguing. The problem I see with this design however, is the amount of maintenance that would need to be done on a weekly basis to keep it as-is. One of the challenges of landscape architecture is that you are working with a LIVING canvas and this must be taken into account when designing. I can see some of the areas in these photos being torn up in a few years. Keeping moss pristine and free of impurities is and keeping the bamboo on a grid is no easy challenge! But it is very beautiful indeed as it is now.

Good point about the upkeep on moss.
Still stunning to look at when well groomed and taken care of!
