An icon of New Zealand domestic modernism, the Brake House built in Titirangi, West Auckland 1976 is stunning home nestled on a jungle like hillside. Sang Architects and the original owner, internationally renowned photographer Brian Brake. Structurally ambitious, with influences from the Far East, the house is positioned to make the most of views near and far. It reminds of a modern glass tree house in the jungle. The interiors have some of my favorite mid century features, wood ceilings and floors running the length of the house, walls of glass and a smart selection of art and furniture on the interiors.
