The St. Bonifatius project by Kor Architects is “simply” beautiful. I don’t recall posting a whole lot of modern churches here on Plastolux although I did get to visit Eero Saarinen’s North Christian Church. The St. Bonifatius has some amazing “heaven like” interiors that seem to be bathed in white casting a calming glow. The monochromatic interiors are so breathtaking, maybe hard to keep clean but breathtaking. I do hope that there cushions for the benches my legs would fall asleep.

Michel: Jul 16 12 at 6:48 amIs this a catholic church ? Really ? Wasn’t catholicism precisely about incarnation ? This place may be spiritual, may be beautiful, ok, but it feels like a totally abstract place ! We want flesh ! We want life !
Pyotor: Jul 16 12 at 10:05 amThe interior is so blindingly white. It’s as if every soul that seeks refuge in this place is being subjected to otherworldy luminous cleansing of some sort.
This could work for me if the pews were of blond wood and there’s a big indoor tree to give it a human touch.
