These stacked volumes in the Brookfield house by Shaun Lockyer Architects make for a truly dynamic home. I like that this home is made up of cubes or square shapes, even the portions where there is air underneath I see them as negative volumes. The wood ceilings and walls ad warmth wile giving a nod to mid century. The use of stone give and anchoring effect wile the large amount of glass creates a great juxtaposition. The addition of the cantilevered glass box adds the element that instantly grabbed my attention.
