For my personal furniture choices I tend not to stray to far from the straight lines of mid century modern furniture but the Terranos Cabinet by Jack Frost Design is quite interesting. “The cabinet’s design prevents objects from being placed on top which would detract from its aesthetic landscape form.” I definitely think that this piece could and needs to stand on its own, it needs its own wall with plenty of space around it. Of course I would love to see this with a white shell and walnut fronts.
Inspiration for this design came about by studying the rural Australian landscape and aerial photography. The undulating exterior of the cabinet represents the beautiful natural contours of Australian topography, which was then manipulated into a geometric form. The front drawer cut-outs are overlayed aerial photographs taken from satellite imagery
