Is there such an idea that you could use too many vertical slats? Maybe, but not on the Baulinder Haus by Hufft Projects. The repetition that is happening with different materials is quite pleasing to the eye. The different materials on the exterior create different visual plains. This almost makes you forget just hoe much this design element is being used. Black, white and wood is such an amazing grouping of colors. I adore the kitchen, I would have to learn to cook if it were mine.
The house’s simple form was conceptualized as a series of stacked boxes, with public spaces residing on the ground level and private spaces in the boxes above. In plan, the boxes are oriented in a u-shape configuration to create a generous private courtyard which was designed as an extension of the interior living space, blurring the boundaries between indoors and out.
