So I was watching what I think is a new episode of HOUSE on FOX the other night and I started to recognize all these Herman Miller shell chairs, stacks of them. I started to point out all the cool chairs and lamps and even some really nice Danish Modern pieces and my wife just rolled her eyes and said I was totally obsessed. This episode takes place on a set that was designed after the Mayfield Psychiatric Hospital, they did a great job. Watch the whole episode and you can be a obsessed nerd too. Am I the only one that does this? I grabbed some screens from video clips.

Carina: Sep 23 09 at 11:31 amYou are NOT the only one–haha! While I was watching the episode I could hardly contain myself. I even had to turn to my husband and mention that for a mental institution, it seemed to have really nice, even expensive furniture. This is not the only time, whoever is doing the set for House has a way of sneaking in great modern and MCM pieces. I especially remember an Eames lounger from a couple seasons ago.

My wife laughs at me with equal enthusiasm to yours rolling her eyes.

I was thinking the same thing during the show, but was unfortunately watching alone in Oregon, and could only make my exclamations to my cat. But it is so well known what a chair nerd and House fan I am, that I got one text from my girlfriend in Washington, and another from my best friend in Los Angles because they both knew exactly what I was thinking as they watched.

Noticed all the Herman Miller shell chairs too, but the chair I really really want was the MCM chair that House sat in when he was talking to the head of the asylum in his office. Upholstred chair with what looked like teak legs (upholstry wasn’t great, but the legs and the lines were exactly what I’ve been looking for). Any ideas as to what that chair is?
Tyler: Oct 05 09 at 9:37 amClive, I noticed that chair too. It would be pretty hard to pin point the exact maker. It am pretty sure it was Danish/Swedish. Look up the seller Danish Mafia on Ebay, they usually have chairs similar to that.
